Here are just a few tips that will help you along with our patterns. . .

'Care of Your Quilt' - It is always wise to pre-wash the fabric you use making sure you wash like colours together!

'Embroidery Cotton' - When using embroidery cotton many people use 2 threads but we suggest using one thread & tying the two ends together with a knot giving you a double thread in each stitch!

'Sewing Around Corners & Curves' - Corners & curves can prove to be a problem with stitches moving up & away from the edge of the applique fabric. So to avoid this sew in a tiny extra locking stitch on the corner or curve, this ensures the stitch stays in place. Around corners, sew in a few locking stitches as you go.

'Keeping Your Iron & Ironing Board Clean' - There is nothing worse than your ironing board getting covered with glue from the Vliesofix so make sure when you iron all you applique pieces in place, place baking paper under & over the fabric before you iron!

'Fabric Scraps' - Never ever throw away scraps of fabric (unless they are tiny!) as they can always be used & will save you money in the long run!
